This is a huge valley that runs north-south between the Sierra Nevada Mountains and the coastal ranges. Mostly hot and dry; irrigation is widely practiced.
Largely produces high-volume wines simply labeled "California".

Red	Merlot Grape	Grape notes: Aroma/Flavors vary according to ripeness. Often blended with Cab. Sauvignon to add softness. Buds and ripens early.
